This week @ SKP
November 21 to November 27, 2016
- Thanksgiving Day Mass
Mass at Saint Kilian Parish will take place at 9:00 a.m. in the new church. Parishioners are welcome to participate in the offertory procession bringing up gifts of non-perishable food items or monetary contributions. The food will go directly to our parish Food Pantry. We will also distribute small loaves of blessed bread (made by the bakers at Soergel Orchard) that can be used to begin your Thanksgiving dinner. Please join other parishioners in beginning this special holiday by giving thanks to Almighty God at the Eucharist.
- Parish Offices Closed
As we celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday, parish offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.
A new liturgical year begins this Sunday, November 27th, as we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent. Our Gospel readings will move from Luke’s to Matthew’s account of the Good News. Music at masses will also mark this season as we await and prepare for the joyous celebration of Christmas. If you are looking for a wonderful way to count down the days until Christmas, consider a Reverse Advent Calendar.
Start with and an empty basket or box. Each day, during Advent, add one food item to the basket and after Christmas bring your basket to Mass and donate it to Kilian Cupboard, the parish food bank.
- Happy 2 Month Anniversary!
Friday, November 25th, marks the two month anniversary since the dedication of our new Church. Even though it has only been 8 weeks, it has not taken long for the Church to become a comfortable home. Throughout the day, it is common to find folks in prayer before the Lord. After a busy day at work or when you need a break from the hectic pace of life, why not take a few moments to spend in prayer in this sacred space?
